2012/11/16 Nissan Cape Town GT Academy Live Activation The recent GT Academy Live Activation which took place from 9-11 November at the Tyger Valley Shopping Centre in Bellville near Cape Town has produced a new overall leader in the GT Academy standings. Hot on the heels of Johannesburg resident Jacobus Volschenk who set the leading lap time previously at the KZN Activation, Capetonian Robin van Merch blitzed Volschenk's time by 0.75 seconds, emerging as the new leader with a time of 1:31.439. The two avid console racers had previously competed as team mates in online GranTurismo racing.

2012/12/06 Final Rounds of GT Academy Live Activations Produce New Leader The final rounds of the GT Academy Live Activations, which took place at Mall @ Reds in Centurion and Maponya Mall in Soweto over the weekend of 1-2 December, have produced an all-new leader and shaken up the final standings. The top nine finalists, who have competed in Live Activations and participating Nissan dealerships all around the country, will be joining a further sixteen finalists who competed online with their own PlayStation®3 consoles, going into the national finals in January.
