Following a successful 2018 Kenya Motor Show, Nissan has restated its ambition to significantly grow in Kenya and its commitment to the wider East African market.

Part of Nissan’s strategy of reinforcing its commitment to Kenya is to showcase innovative vehicles and leading technology in the form of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Intelligent Mobility is focused on how cars are powered, how cars are driven, and how cars integrate into society, all while staying focused on creating more enjoyable driving experiences.

“The showcasing we held at the Kenya Motor Show displayed Nissan’s exciting product range: The Patrol SUV, The X-Trail, the Patrol pick-up, the NP300 in single-cab, and double-cab models and Nissan’s iconic passenger vehicle, the Sentra.  This display was indicative of how progressive our products are, as well as how serious we are about the Kenyan market,” said Jim Dando, Nissan Director of Operations and Sales in Africa

Nissan’s aim is to be the leading auto company in Africa through a focused strategy that includes expanding the dealer network and product line-up in all key markets to ensure the Nissan brand is visible and accessible to as many consumers as possible.

Nissan’s most popular products in Africa are undoubtedly its sturdy and reliable light commercial pickup vehicles – especially the NP300 Hardbody, which can cope with Africa’s rugged terrain.

However, as economies develop and road infrastructure improves across the continent, there is growing interest in Nissan’s extensive range of passenger and sports utility vehicles. Nissan’s aim is to bring products that are tailored for the different markets in Africa at competitive prices.

“Nissan parts and accessories are available and affordable in Kenya, and it’s important that our components are made in Africa for Africa. As we know, some of our roads are not in great condition and they require vehicles that are robust and can handle our unique landscape. Nissan vehicles and parts are engineered for African roads, and we’re proud of their durability,” said Dando.

Nissan is well-known across Africa as a manufacturer of never-say-die vehicles. The company’s technical ability and expertise is essential when it comes to building vehicles that people can trust, and Nissan’s track record demonstrates its deep understanding of the African market.

Nissan currently has local partnership trading as Nissan Kenya. Together, the partners are building the Nissan brand in Kenya by growing its network of dealers and delivering a variety of vehicles that are tailor-made for the market.

Nissan has a long association with Kenya, where Nissan vehicles have been available since the early 1990s. Nissan’s Africa strategy has identified Kenya as a country with significant potential for growth. It is one of the most stable countries in Africa and has achieved consistent economic growth.
