• Nissan NP200 sells 1829 units in March 2012
  • More records stack up for Nissan LCVs

Following the record-breaking sales volume of 1506 units sold in January 2012, the Nissan NP200 has again delivered market-leading volumes, breaking its previous record by over three hundred units.

NP200 again did Nissan SA proud, with a whopping 1829 units making their way to proud new owners in March 2012. This record represents the highest volume ever achieved by Nissan in the half-ton segment since the 1990s, and the resulting 51 percent market share is the highest it's been since September 1994.

2012 segment leader

Sales on the Nissan NP200 are up 182 percent year-on-year, and with the latest successes it seems there's no stopping the onslaught on what is a very competitive market segment. The Nissan NP200 now finds itself as segment leader for the first quarter of 2012, claiming 46 percent of the half-ton market – a total of 4785 units sold.

Diverse range and keen pricing

The Nissan NP200 is available in seven different model derivatives, with a choice of either petrol or diesel power. Boasting the largest loadbox and a class-leading payload of 800kg, the Nissan NP200 builds on the legacy left by the old Nissan 1400 Bakkie, being exceptionally practical too. Built locally at the company's Rosslyn plant in Pretoria, it's no surprise that the Nissan NP200 finds favour with so many South African buyers. All models come standard with a class-leading 6 year/150 000km warranty, starting with the R117 500 1.6 Base right through the range.
