Cairo – Nissan Motor Egypt (NMEG) is reinforcing its position as a leader in the Egyptian SUV segment by introducing the all-new, segment-defining, third-generation Qashqai. In Egypt, the previous two generations defined the domestic SUV market and have set the bar higher with every version.

NMEG celebrated the launch of the latest segment defining Qashqai with a public reveal in one of Egypt’s renowned business parks. The reveal was followed on the second day by a press conference and a panel discussion. On day 3, media members and influencers had the chance to experience the New Qashqai under different road conditions and had the chance to test its Nissan Intelligent Mobility features in action.

"Egypt is the first market in Africa to officially launch the all-new Qashqai. It is also one of the first markets outside Europe where the car was released in the zone," said Mike Whitfield, Nissan Africa RBU Managing Director. "This is part of Nissan products’ enrichment strategy to meet our diverse customer needs in this potential-laden continent, with the ambition of becoming the first customer choice in Africa.

"The launch of the all-new third-generation Qashqai in Egypt will write a new chapter in NMEG's success story," said Sherief Eldessouky, Managing Director of Nissan Motor Egypt. "The Qashqai redefined the SUV segment, gaining a stellar reputation as an advance, reliable, and efficient vehicle that caters to the needs and wants of customers."

He continued: "It is now the car of choice in its class for a big portion for the most demanding Egyptian buyers and one of the best-selling worldwide."

Eldessouky added: "With the launch of the all-new third-generation Qashqai, Nissan Motor Egypt is offering the market a car with state-of-the-art safety features, comfort, and performance that no other vehicle in its class offers. Our ambition at Nissan Motor Egypt, is to offer unique experiences and integrated services that go beyond customers' expectations."

Safety first
One of Nissan's priorities is to ensure all its cars adhere to the highest safety standards, and the third-generation Qashqai is no exception.

It received five stars and the highest scores in its class in the Euro NCAP 2021 crash test for its safety systems, structural rigidity, and passive safety features. The all-new third-generation Qashqai received 23.8 points out of a maximum of 24 for child protection and a maximum of 12 points for child seat installation. Overall, it got a 91% score for adult and child protection.

The Euro NCAP gave the all-new third-generation Qashqai a 95% score for its safety systems, including the Nissan Intelligent Mobility package. It also noted the car's Intelligent Emergency Braking system, which work harmoniously to safely get all occupants out of emergencies.

Power, efficiency, and performance
It is a turbocharged 1,332 cc engine that produces 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque starting from 1,600 rpm. It propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Fuel consumption averages 6.1 liters per 100 km. transferring that power to the front wheels is a state-of-the-art X-Tronic automatic gearbox that ensures maximum performance and fuel efficiency.

Nissan developed that powertrain to cater to every customer requirement, ensuring that driving the all-new, third-generation Qashqai is a pleasure to drive while reducing its harmful impact on the environment.

Lastly, the independent multi-link rear suspension ensures the car remains stable at highway speeds and through fast, flowing corners, further enhancing the driving experience.

Striking and elegant
Like its predecessors, UK-based Nissan Design Europe styled the new Qashqai, while Nissan Technical Centre Europe led the engineering of this all-new third-generation car.

The third-generation Qashqai is unmistakably unique in its styling but is more muscular, sharp, and modern. Its enhanced body stance is more purposeful, with aggressive shoulder lines, perfectly compliment the new sporty alloy wheel designs.

It is bigger than its predecessor, measuring 4.425 meters long, 1.625 meters tall, and 1.835 meters wide. Meanwhile, the wheelbase is 2.66 meters to offer more comfort and space inside the cabin, while the 180 cm ground clearance gives the driver a commanding view of the road ahead and confidence that nothing will scrape the body's underside.
The latest Qashqai's sides are sculpted front to rear, giving it an athletic and dynamic look and emphasizing the horizontal stance to the car while conveying its dynamism. That sculpture perfectly complements the car's arch-filling alloys, particularly the sporty tires.

Nissan realizes that many customers seek personal touches to their new cars. As such, the all-new third-generation Qashqai will be available with 5 two-tone combinations, which creates a floating roof effect that adds the Qashqai's ever-impressive design.

Merging luxury with technology
The all-new third-generation Qashqai offers a connected, comfortable, and commanding cabin that surpasses segment standards for premium feel, distinctive design, and enhanced usability.

Ambient lighting strips across the entire cabin, on the top line models, create a reassuring and calming place for the driver and all passengers. Meanwhile, Nissan's designers paid a lot of attention to the ergonomic and aesthetic qualities of every switchgear, button, and surface that passengers touch and see.

Suiting every taste
In Egypt, the all-new Qashqai comes in three trim levels (Visia, Acenta Premium, and Tekna).

Visia model has a keyless entry, front and rear armrests, cruise control, auto folding mirrors, front LED fog lamps, anti-lock braking, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). That model also comes with several Driving Modes, rear AC ducts, ABS and roof rails.
