ROSSLYN, South Africa – The Nissan NAVARA has been named as the 4x4 vehicle of choice for popular angling TV programme, Inside Angling. The show sees its team travel in excess of 100 000 km per season in search of unspoiled coastline and wild rivers where the huge varieties of game fish can be found in Southern Africa.
Based on a catch-and-release angling philosophy with environmental and animal care a priority, the now three-year-old series has been captivating audiences and focuses on showcasing the diverse species that can be found in Southern Africa. Executive Producer Brad Cartwright, comments: "Having to cover such diverse terrain, from the berg, through the bush and to the beach, we needed a reliable 4x4 with the towing capacity for our large boats to reach any destination. Nissan's involvement in and support of recreational angling was motivated by the Roam Free conservation initiative, driven by fishtube.tv. The innovative and free smartphone app-based concept promotes the sustainability of recreational angling, which remains the largest participatory sport in South Africa.
Cartwright concludes: "Provided you have the right vehicle to get you there, the waters of Southern Africa are home to practically every fish that you could ever want to catch…and of course, release. The Nissan NAVARA is that vehicle!"
