Rosslyn, South Africa – Visitors to Nissan's stand at this year's Nampo Harvest Day show near Bothaville in the Free State will be treated to unrestricted access to the all-new Nissan Navara and a showcase of its entire pick-up range and related accessories.
Nissan is a regular at the Nampo show, where it has taken up both stands 125 and 126 near the Nampo Hall for the past 16 years. This year it will display its line-up of NP200, NP300 Hardbody and the all-new Navara pick-up range, while also offering a first-hand experience of the Navara on the nearby off-road track.
"There is so much advanced technology in the latest generation Navara, that it is best experienced in person. At the stand, you will be able to see the award-winning five-link rear suspension, the twin-turbo diesel engine and our proprietary off-road technology, such as the four-wheel active braking limited slip differential system (ABLS)," says Xavier Gobille, Director for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Nissan Group of Africa.
The Nampo Harvest Day show is expected to attract over 70 000 visitors between 16 and 19 May and it remains the most important agricultural show of its kind in South Africa. Nissan's long-term presence at the show reflects the popularity of its vehicle range, especially pick-ups, amongst the farming community.
Nissan will also showcase its comprehensive vehicle accessory range at its Nampo stand. Unlike most other vehicle manufacturers, where the fitment of accessories impacts the warranty cover, Nissan has developed, tested and approved an exhaustive list of accessories for the NP200, NP300 Hardbody and Navara. One such accessorised Navara will be available on the Nissan Nampo stand.
"The all-new Navara was launched with no less than 67 different Africa-tested and approved accessories," says Gobille. "From cattle rails to heavy duty off-road replacement bumpers and a winch, it is all available for fitment at your local Nissan dealer and will not impact on the vehicle's mechanical warranty."
Also on the stand will be a full-sized model of the Navara's award-winning chassis. This model shows the five-link coil-sprung independent rear suspension and allows visitors to the stand to inspect its design and operation.
"While space does not allow us to race Nissan vehicles around Bothaville, we will be bringing the next best thing to Nampo. Our stand will include a virtual reality booth where visitors to the show can strap on a headset and take a ride in some very exciting Nissan models," says Gobille.
Nissan fans can also add a visit to the Bothaville Nissan Museum to their Nampo itinerary. Bothaville is home to Freek de Kock's globally-recognised collection of cars and pick-ups, which not only includes over 80 perfectly restored classic Nissan and Datsun models, but also has on display an example of every generation of GT-R and Fairlady Z models to date.
