PRETORIA, ROSSLYN - This December the Nissan Micra embarks on a new journey of fun, funk and freedom with the 'My ride, my rules' campaign. Set to elevate the Micra to a new level of coolness, the campaign will be hosting various activations around the country at the hottest holiday spots, bringing a unique and trendy element to the festive season. A design competition is also poised to bring a multitude of individual character traits to the Micra, with the grand prize of a personalised new Nissan Micra up for grabs.
Take a drive and show off your wild side
Holidaymakers who find themselves in Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein, Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town can expect a few surprises this month as the campaign's activations will see a host of diversely-styled Nissan Micra available on display at various hotspots in the different locations, including Sandton City in Johannesburg, the Waterfront in Bloemfontein, Ballito and Umhlanga beaches in KwaZulu Natal as well as Plett Beach in the Western Cape, among others. The 'My ride, my rules' Micra will also be attending neon lights festivals in Plett and Cape Town, to show off their love for pumping night life. Being keen party animals, the Micra will also be joining Gareth Cliff at the Plett Festival.
The various activations will also provide photo booths where photos can be taken and printed free of charge and also uploaded to your personal Facebook timeline.
Create your own cool and WIN
Kicking off on 15 December 2012, the 'My ride, my rules' design competition encourages creative individuals to design their very own Nissan Micra via a smart microsite available at www.facebook.com/nissansouthafrica. Be unique, be yourself and make your Micra a reflection of your personality by changing colours and creating a unique mix of decals – the grand prize is a brand-new Nissan Micra which will be given away next year, branded with the winner's very own design.
In January 2013 the 'My ride, my rules' campaign moves onto the airwaves with a radio campaign, with February seeing in the start of the academic year at campus activations. The finals take place in March where one lucky winner will be announced.
